I also installed a trial version of the Loopback software, it is expensive at $110 US and I haven't committed to it yet, but provides a simple and intelligent routing interface that makes every audio IO routing possibility into an immediate visual representation. This is described as a Soundflower alternative although it has some quirks associated with setting up a Multi-Output Device in Mac Audio Devices. Reading the documentation is essential to using it successfully. I have installed the free Black Hole software from existential audio.
